A MAN is being hunted by police at Warrington following a sex attack on a teenage girl.
The incident was yesterday (Thursday) in Green Lane, Padgate, some time between 8-9pm.
A 15-year-old girl was walking along Green Lane and as she got to a gate which leads into a park, a man grabbed her and swung her round to face him.
He then put his hand down her jeans. She struggled and managed to break free before running away. The man followed for a short distance but then stopped.
PC Charlotte Higgins said: “Thankfully incidents such as this are rare, but we would like to remind women to be extra vigilant.”
Police say the attacker was in his late teens, with dark shaven hair.
His face was quite thin, with wide eyes and a sharp nose. He had stubble on his outer cheeks.
He was wearing a black waterproof hooded Helly Hansen coat with a white fluorescent “H” emblem in middle of the chest. It also had elasticated cuffs. He was wearing grey jogging bottoms of a sweatshirt material. He also smelt of smoke.
Anyone with information should contact PC Higgins at Risley police station on 101. Alternatively information can be given anonymously on 0800 555 111.
