Winter first aid course

A WINTER first aid course is to be given in Warrington on February 19 by the St John Ambulance.
Statistics consistently show that, tragically, more people die during the winter months than in the summer and St John Ambulance Cheshire is calling on local people to be prepared this winter by learning some essential lifesaving first aid to help keep their loved ones safe.
Stephanie Littler from St John Ambulance said: “First aid minimises harm when an accident or injury occurs and can be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
“Local people can be better prepared to deal with any accidents or injuries during winter time through first aid training.
“St John Ambulance has scheduled a three hour Essential First Aid (all ages) course on February 19 at its Warrington training venue. The course will equip local people with the knowledge and confidence to deal with minor incidents and major emergencies, such as severe bleeding, heart attacks, choking and an unconscious casualty who has stopped breathing.
“First aid protocols for both adults and children will be covered on this course. Anyone from the age of 12 is welcome to attend. Under 16s should be accompanied by an adult.”
