WARRINGTON Wolves’ skipper Adrian Morley has unveiled a special limited edition shirt for his testimonial which is set to kick off in March.
The shirt has been divided into four quarters to highlight the four main periods of his career with Leeds Rhinos, Sydney Roosters, Warrington Wolves and Great Britain/England.
Morley said: “I wanted a shirt which would reflect my career as I have fantastic memories spanning my entire career.”
He is particularly pround of achieving 50 caps with Great Britain and England and says wearing his country’s shirt has been the main highlight of his career.
“There is no bigger honour than representing your country and every time I pull on my national shirt I wear it with pride.”
Meanwhile his testimonial season will kick off with a launch dinner at the Park Royal Hotel, Warrington on Wednesday, March 7 from 7pm – 11pm.
MC will be Warrington Wolves welfare officer Brian Carney with host Eddie Hemmings from Sky Sports, plus Tony Smith and the Warrington Wolves squad.
This will be followed by a Sportsman`s Dinner at the Marriott, Leeds on Wednesday March 14 from 7pm – 11pm.Leeds Legend John Bentley will be MC, with host Michael Parkinson plus Adrian Morley, Kevin Sinfield, Barrie McDermott, Darren Gough and Leeds United legend David Batty.
The following week there will be a Black Tie Boxing Dinner at the Midland Hotel, Manchester on Tuesday March 20 from 7pm – 11pm, with Special Guest Frank Bruno plus Roy Keane.
Commenting on his testimonial Morley added: “Since making my debut in 1996, I have had some amazing experiences. But 2012 is going to be an expecially exciting year for me.
“I’m truly honoured to have been granted a testimonial by the RFL for services to the game of Rugby League. From March to May, I will be hosting a number of exciting events supported by many sporting friends and heroes.”
During his testimonial Morley will also be helping raise funds for the Wooden Spoon children’s charity and the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
