WARRINGTON Town’s home league fixture with Lancaster City scheduled to take place today has been postponed due to snow and ice on the Cantilever Park surface.
An Evo-Stik League match official carried out the inspection at 10:30am along with match secretary Chris Henshall, who both agreed that the pitch was not fit for play today.
Chris said “Most parts of the pitch is covered in snow. Ice is also on the pitch and terracing making it dangerous for players and spectators.”
The Evo-Stik NPL First Division North fixture now looks set to take place later in the season with a new date yet to be confirmed.
Warrington Town’s next fixture is at home on Boxing Day, as they take on local rivals Witton Albion in a festive 3:00pm kick off.
