Emergency road works to finish early

EMERGENCY road works which have caused heavy traffic congestion in Warrington town centre for the last few days are to finish early.
The borough council says they have been informed the work at the junction of Buttermarket Street and Scotland Road will be completed this afternoon, rather than this evening.
This should ease rush-hour traffic tonight as people go home from work.
The work involved repairs to a cable under the road and Scottish Power have managed to complete it slightly ahead of schedule.
