Pub raiders caught on camera

POLICE have issued CCTV stills of three men they want to question in connection with an armed robbery at a Warrington pub a month ago.
The raid was at the Winwick Quay pub, at the corner of Winwick Road and Woburn Road, at 12.40am on November 11.
Staff were in the process of closing the pub for the night when three men, armed with knives, forced their way into the pub via the back door and demanded access to the safe. They subsequently fled the scene empty handed.
Detectives are continuing to carry out a number of lines of enquiry in relation to the incident.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or knows the identity of the offenders.
Anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101.
A 27-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident but was later released without charge.

  1. How utterly pointless, a photo fit description from a blind man would be better than that. I think all that’s being achieved here is making it known that the CCTV is useless at the Winwick Quay and an invite to other would be thieves. Just hope they’ve seen the error of their ways and got a better one before the next time.

  2. I completely agree ! Other than the first image which shows some sort of motif on the hoodie the other three images could be anyone, anywhere. Utterly Pointless but you never know I suppose as someone may suddenly remember seeing them at the time and come forward with a better description. Actually PROBABLY NOT as it seems to have happened A MONTH AGO !?!? Why does it take so long to release cctv images even if they are bad ones ? The pub clearly do need to upgrade their night time cctv camera’s though.

  3. I think it’s disgraceful that a business as profitable as this has such pathetic security measures. Perhaps it’s about time that legislation was brought in to make sufficient security measures mandatory, for both the protection of staff and as an aid to crime prevention in general. It is the public purse that pays for police services and adequate CTV would not only make their job easier but would drastically cut hours spent in solving this type of crime.
