DEAFNESS Support Network, with a branch in Wilson Patten Street, Warrington, has appointed a new chief executive.
Bob Birchall, 41, (pictured) has taken over at the charity, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge from his work across both private and public sector healthcare services.
Starting his career in sales and marketing, his work with an NHS client led to him moving to the Cheshire and Merseyside Strategic Health Authority where he took on designing, developing and delivering tailored support and learning programs across the region.
His latest role, before deciding to join DSN, was with a mental health trust.
Mr Birchall said: “I’ve been aware of DSN for many years and have respect and admiration for the work they do. I’m very excited to now be a part of the charity and I aim to provide a strong voice for our service users.
“I’m particularly eager to tackle some of the issues surrounding inequality in both health and society.”
The charity also has branches in Northwich, Macclesfield and Chester.
