VILLAGERS and shop keepers turned back the clock at Culcheth Victorian Day to start the countdown to Christmas.
Organised by Culcheth Lions and supported by Culcheth & Glazebury Parish Council, the event is now firmly established as part of the village calendar as Lions members, shopkeepers and residents alike, dressed up in Victorian costume in celebration.
Christmas Fayres were held in the Parish and Methodist Church Hall. while Santa was enchanting children at the Methodist Church. There was also fairground fun in the village.
Culcheth Lions are proud that the event provides a focus for many other local organisations to raise funds, or simply raise their profile, and that the children of Culcheth can have a chance to meet Santa in familiar surroundings and without breaking the bank!

Pictures show youngsters visiting Santa’s grotto at Culcheth Methodist Church and the team at McDees entering into the spirit of the occasion and (below) Warren Bibby with the team from Culcheth Royal British Legion.
