TWO Warrington funeral workers have completed physical challenges to help local charities.
Jamie Caine, a funeral director at Cheshire Funeral Services, Gorsey Lane, completed the English Half Marathon in Warrington in two hours and 45 minutes.
He raised £200 for St Rocco’s Hospice, Warrington.
A week later driver/bearer Gary Burdett, from The Co-operative Funeralcare, Bewsey Road, tackled the Three Peaks Challenge.
Over a weekend he climbed Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdonia in just 22 hours to raise £700 for Mencap.
He started at 5pm on the day with Ben Nevis, he then travelled overnight to the Lake District and climbed Scafell Pike in the early hours of the morning before heading to Snowdonia on the same afternoon.
Gary said: “I would particularly like to thank colleagues Kenny and Richard from Dumbarton and Greenock for providing transport from Ben Nevis to Scar Fell and my colleague from Warrington Tony Higgins for driving from Scar Fell to Snowdon.”
