Guides plan new group

EACH week in Culcheth about 200 people are involved in Girlguiding and a new unit is being planned to cope with increasing numbers.
Girls, young women and adults are members and there is a demand for new places – so the new Guide Unit is being formed.
At present there are three Rainbow units, four Brownie units, two Guide units and a Senior Section unit meeting in Culcheth.
In January plans are to open another Guide unit and an extra Senior Section unit to cope with demand.
District commissioner Sara Isles said: “In order to provide the girls and young women in Culcheth with the Girlguiding opportunities they so clearly want, we are always looking for adult volunteers.
“We especially need women who are willing to become unit leaders and take the adult leadership qualification.”
Anyone interested should contact Sara on 766057 or via email [email protected]
Recently 24 members of the 7th Culcheth Guides set off for “A Grand Day Out” at Blackpool Pleasure Beach organised by Girlguiding North West England.
More than 9,000 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members from across North West enjoyed the day. They enjoyed rides, an ice show and a world record attempt for the most people doing the “Cha Cha Slide” at the same time.
