Older dancers learn new moves

DANCE sessions for older people in Warrington are offering the chance to learn new moves and join in a showcase event.
GRACE (Grow, Respond, Aspire, Create, Express), an innovative dance project, was launched as part of Warrington’s Contemporary Arts Festival.
Led by North West based dance company Co3 Dance, in partnership with the borough council, it offers older people the chance to collectively develop a dance piece for the community dance showcase “Shine” in March.
The theme will take inspiration from the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, focusing on the pivotal time for the Queen when she was crowned.
Taster sessions during October have proved popular. Weekly sessions will run every Tuesday from November 1 from 1-3pm at Pyramid Arts Centre. All are welcome.”
Cllr Kate Hannon, executive board member for leisure, community and culture, said: “It’s great news that the GRACE dance project is proving so popular.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for older people to try out dancing, meet new people and enjoy themselves. I wish the project every success for the future and look forward to seeing the group’s performance next year.”
