Thugs attack cyclist

A MAN was attacked by two men who attempted to rob him as he cycled through a housing estate at Warrington.
He was knocked from his cycle, punched in the face and kicked as he rode along South Avenue, Orford.
The attackers started rifling his pockets and only ran off when a passerby intervened.
Police today appealed for information about the incident which took place on October 15.
The 22-year-old has told police he saw his two attackers coming out of the garden of a house in South Avenue.
One punched him in the face, causing him to fall from his bike.
When he tried to defend himself as one man was going through his pockets, the second man kicked him to his body.
An elderly man approached and the two offenders ran off in the direction of Shaws Avenue.
The offenders, who were wearing dark hooded tops, made off empty handed but the victim was left with three broken ribs and bruising and grazes to his face.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to call 0845 458 0000.
