WARRINGTON Town have swooped for Salford City fans’ favourite Matty Cross to bolster their squad.
Cross, who can play in defence or midfield was voted Fans’ Player of the Year at Salford last season.
Cross joined The Ammies from Bamber Bridge in March 2010 and immediately established himself as a first team regular.
He played most of last season at centre half, but started this season in a central midfield role.
Cross was at last night’s FA Trophy replay defeat to Sheffield and was impressed by the set up at the club and is looking forward to teaming up with Town.
He will join his new team mates at training tomorrow night and looks set to be included in the squad to travel to Harrogate on Saturday when Warrington will be looking to get their league campaign back on track.
Town manager Joey Dunn said: “Matt is a true professional and will bring extra quality and strength in depth to our squad.”
