Police appeal after robbery

POLICE at Warrington today appealed for information following a robbery in the street in the town.
The incident took place at around 6am on Sunday (October 2) in Calver Road, Winwick Quay.
A 20-year-old man was walking home along Calver Road near to LA Bowl when he was approached by two men.
One, aged about 20-25 and 5ft 3 inches tall, of medium build and with a shaved head, demanded money from the victim, claiming he needed it to get home to St Helens.
When the victim refused, the man produced a knife and forced him to hand over his mobile phone and wallet.
The second man, about 5ft 7 inches tall, of slim build with short cropped hair with a fringe, had hold of the victim during the incident.
The offenders stole a Blackberry mobile phone, cash, a bus pass and driving license. They fled the scene on foot heading down Calver Road in the direction of the M62.
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information, which might assist with their enquiries, to call 0845 458 0000.
