Grocery gifts for charity

YOUNGSTERS will take grocery donations to be distributed to local charities when they attend a Harvest-themed Praise and Pray session in Warrington.
Appleton Thorn pre-school youngsters will visit St Cross Church in the village next Tuesday. After donating their groceries the group will then enjoy action songs and make a bible-story themed craft to take home.
Michelle Duffield, the pre-school co-ordinator, said: “We love our outings to St Cross. The Praise and Play sessions incorporate singing, stories and craft, so they are a real hit with our pre-schoolers.”
Vicar, the Rev Elaine Chegwin Hall, said: “The children of Appleton Thorn Pre-School bring the church to life with their enthusiastic singing.
“Harvest festival is a meaningful event in the church calendar for all ages, and this is a welcome opportunity for some of our youngest parishioners to help those less fortunate than ourselves.”
