Children to takeover adult jobs

CHILDREN in Warrington will get a chance to “takeover” the jobs of adults for one day in November.
Children’s Commissioner’s Takeover Day is a national event that gives children and young people the chance to work alongside adults and get involved in decision making.
This year it in on Friday, November 11, coinciding with Remembrance Day.
Last year lots of staff at Warrington Borough Council, Cheshire Police and a number of schools stood down to let young people take over their jobs.
The day was a great success and the council is calling on Warrington’s organisations and young people to take part this year to make it even bigger and better.
The event is being organised by Warrington Youth Support service. It gives young people a chance to better understand the work of a particular organisation, lets them have their say and the organisation can also benefit from young people’s ideas on what they do and how they do it.
Cllr Colin Froggatt (pictured), the council’s executive member for children and young people’s services, said: “Takeover Day is a fantastic initiative that gives children and young people a real opportunity to get involved in decision making at a range of organisations. If you’re a local organisation or young person interested in taking part, don’t miss out – contact us today to find out more.”
