Jobs club set to return to work!

A SUCCESSFUL Jobs Club which has helped 160 people throughout Warrington since its launch will return on Saturday September 16.
Warrington South MP David Mowat founded the clubs and the new one marks its sixth season.
Since 2009 the club has helped 110 local people find work and 25 to start their own business – an overall success rate of more than 84 per cent.
Building on the experience and expertise of local businessmen, participants are encouraged to share their experiences of searching for work, learn from each other as well as outside advisors and to hone job-hunting skills.
Anyone interested in booking a place should email [email protected] or call Anna on 01925 231267.
Mr Mowat said: “We know from recent research that getting people back in to work could be worth thousands to the local economy. Despite difficult economic times, vacancies are still being created, but people need to ensure that they put themselves at the front of the queue, which is where the Jobs Club comes in.
“The extra skills and motivation the Jobs Club provides helps make sure participants stand out when interviewers are sorting through long list of applications.”

  1. It’s a little ironic that David Mowat is pushing this again. Maybe he should have a word in Westminster about what his Government is doing to strangle the economy and put jobs at risk!

  2. Anything positive to help people back into jobs, particularly those who don’t come into the groups which get all the free help from the Jobcentre, is to be encouraged. I don’t see the Labour MPs offering similar help.

  3. Wasn’t it the bust economy that the current government inherited the reason that jobs are at risk. Good to see Mr Mowat doing something rather thandoing nothing. Does Warrington’s other MP run a similar scheme.
