Restaurant plan is thrown out

A PLANNING inspector has rejected an appeal against the refusal of permission to change the use of a shop to a restaurant at Walton Road, Stockton Heath, Warrington.
He says the plans submitted do not form an adequate basis for a planning consent – and the proposals could result in noise and disturbance for neighbours.
The scheme, which include a first floor extension at the rear of the property, was rejected by the borough council last year.
The inspector says revised plans and drawings do not match.
Although not clear, it appeared that a substantial outdoor area would be created between the rear door and the steps, which could act as a roof terrace and could accommodate a number of people.
Such use would allow clear views into neighbouring rear yards and rear facing windows and increase the potential for noise and disturbance at the rear of an adjacent flat.
