The majority of high schools in the borough have improved on their 2010 performance figures and no school in Warrington is below the “national floor” standard of 35 per cent
Cllr Colin Froggatt, the borough council’s executive member for children and young people’s services said: “We are extremely pleased with the results our young people have achieved this year. These excellent results are a credit to all the hard work and determination shown by students, teaching staff, governors and parents.
“We wish all our students the best of luck for the future.”

  1. If Councillors of this not-so-wonderful council are so proud of the GCSE results, then why close the highest performing school, Woolston High, and doom the future of children by pushing them towards the likes of Lysander?

If they deny this is a poor performing school, then why has that this not made headlines for positive reasons similar to Woolston? And why has Lysander got a school watch going on? Obviously not a safe site to go to if that’s the extent those running the place have in place.
