Road closed after crash

THE A49 London Road was closed at Appleton near Warrington shortly after 10am today after a crash involving two cars.
A woman from one car suffered neck injuries and was taken to hospital.
Cars involved were a blue Rover and a silver Ford Focus.
The road re-opened shortly after 11am, although traffic queues persisted for some time afterwards.
A second accident involving one vehicle on London Road, close to its junction with the A56 Grappenhall Road, also caused hold-ups.
