FOUR students from Warrington have won the chance to spend a week in the House of Commons as interns for MP David Mowat.
Three are from Priestley College – Jenny George, Alice Poole and Alex Gannon – while Jack Jevons is from Great Sankey High School.
They will complete their internships in September and October.
During their internships they be responsible for answering letters and producing briefings for Mr Mowat, as well as taking a tour of the Palace of Westminster and watching Prime Minister’s Question Time.
Students were asked to write a 1,000 word answer to the question “Should the legal age of school leavers be increased to 18?”
Mr Mowat said: “I was extremely impressed by the quality, depth and variety of essays we received. Selecting just four winners was a difficult process, but we felt that these four had something just a little bit more special than the others. I’d like to thank all those who submitted entries, but particularly the four winners. I hope that the experience will inspire them in their future careers.”

Will they be paid a wage or is this a money saving gimmick for David Mowat?
