YOUNG science enthusiasts at Warrington are being invited to get their hands on something fun, messy but educational.
Places are filling up fast for STFC Daresbury Laboratory’s “Hands on Science” afternoon on Thursday August 18 between 1pm and 4pm.
Anyone in the 5-16 age group can go and see how much fun science can be and find out what goes on at one of Europe’s largest research organisations. There is something for everyone. Tickets are free but prior booking is essential.
Youngsters will have a chance to
•Discover the wonders of the Solar System close up in the amazing StarLab – Daresbury’s own planetarium
•Make their own rocket
•Try ice cream made right before their eyes in seconds
•See real Moonrocks which were brought back to Earth by the Apollo astronauts
•Make their own bouncy ball with messy, hands-on science
•Solve magic magnetic puzzles and learn how electromagnets help produce light
•Visit the laboratory’s brand new Science Centre
Places must be booked in advance and all children must be accompanied by an adult. (Maximum 10 children to 1 adult)
Bookings can be made online at: www.stfc.ac.uk/stfcforms/HandsOnFunScience.aspx
