OUGHTRINGTON Community Orchard near Lymm stages its 3rd Annual Produce Show on Sunday September 11 and is looking for people to enter the event.
One of the organisers Jo Yelland said: “It’s all just for fun and this year we have two special additions to the show!”
The special additions are an Apple Press – meaning visitors can bring along their own apples or pears and an empty bottle and press them into juice…for drinking now, freezing or making into cider.
Any one with lots to press should book a slot over the weekend.
The other addition is “Ask the experts” – with the fruit and vegetable judges staying during the show to answer questions on a 1-2-1 basis.
The event takes place at Oughtrington Community Centre from 2-4pm.
There’s an auction of the entries at 3.30pm. It’s an opportunity for grown-ups and children alike to show off the fruit and vegetables they have been growing or try out their baking skills.
There are a whole host of categories – Vegetables, Fruit, Flowers, Food (cakes & jam) and children only.
For more information about the orchard visit on Thursday evenings from 7.30pm during the Spring and Summer or visit the website for more details www.oughtrington.co.uk/orchard or Email: [email protected] or ring 01925 758756.
