Classic cars drew the crowds

WARRINGTON Market’s fourth annual classic transport show drew large crowds to the town centre.
Classic cars from the North West Casual Classics and St Helens Car Club joined forces with many local owners of vintage vehicles showing off their pride and joy on the day.
Visitors were able to get close up to a Jaguar formula one car, a model steam train and a lifeboat. Vintage buses supplied by Warrington Borough Transport and the St Helens Bus Museum offered people the chance to take a trip down memory lane.
There was also entertainment including Morris dancers from Thelwall and donkey rides for children.
Cllr Mike Hannon, (pictured top) deputy leader of Warrington Borough Council, attended the event.
He said: “This is the fourth year the classic transport show has taken place at Warrington Market and it was bigger and better than ever this year. Everyone was really enjoying themselves and there was a festival atmosphere. I hope this event will grow and continue to be a great success in years to come.”
He congratulated Market Manager Steve Pickering (pictured right testing out a formula one racing car) on helping “increase footfall” to the town centre.
