Corner shop hit by fire

A CONVENIENCE store at Warrington was evacuated after fire broke out in a stockroom.
The blaze was at the Spar Shop in Gorse Covert Road, Birchwood.
Fire crews from Birchwood went to the scene and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the smoke-filled stockroom, measuring seven metres square, to carry out a thorough investigation.
Damage had been caused to the ceiling and cabling.
The blaze was caused by a fault on a commercial refrigerator in the stockroom.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots before firefighters left the scene. No-one was hurt.
