College's big celebration

WARRINGTON’S Priestley College took the opportunity to officially celebrate the results of its vocational students during BTEC results day on campus.
Across a broad range of subjects there were many highlights. Sport Priestley enjoyed a treble success as 24 students landed triple distinctions, with eight achieving distinction grades in all units across the college’s three diverse Level 3 programmes.
In Music there was a 100 per cent pass rate and 83 per cent of students had a double distinction. In Performing Arts there was a 100 per cent pass rate, while 80 per cent of the group obtained triple distinctions. Meanwhile Production Arts students also notched a perfect 100 per cent pass rate with 66 per cent scoring double distinctions.
On the Public Services Diploma there were nine students with triple distinctions and on the Certificate pathway there were 13 with double distinctions. On the Level 2 programme, five students landed distinction* grades.
In Art and Design there were 17 students with triple distinctions. In Graphic Design six students had triple distinctions, while nine students on the Art Foundation programme had work at distinction level.
In ICT there was a 100 per cent pass rate at both Level 2 and 3 and there was also great success for students in Early Years.
Deputy principal Matthew Grant said: “Once again our vocational students have excelled with their results speaking for themselves.
“With some number crunching still to be done, the overall picture across the college looks to be outstanding and I congratulate all of our students on the high levels of attainment they have achieved. We now look forward to A-Level results day as we once again celebrate the College’s fantastic achievements.”
