Buskers to raise funds for Elliot

BUSKERS will stage a lively show at Warrington Music Festival to raise funds for a local boy who suffers from Cerebral Palsy.
Festival-goers will be able to support Elliot Worsley, aged four.
On Saturday July 16 Elliot’s aunt Laura Harrison, and other performers will play in a special “charity busker” area in the Golden Square shopping centre from 11am to 4pm.
Shoppers will be able to donate on the day, with all proceeds going to the Hope and Help for Elliot charity.
Laura hopes that enough money will be raised to help send Elliot on a second trip for treatment at the Bobath Centre in London.
His previous trip has already proved incredibly successful in learning new exercises to help him reach his long-term goal of sitting upright alone.
She said: “Every penny really does help with improving Elliot’s quality of life, and we’re really looking forward to putting on our charity busker-thon at Golden Square.”
The event will take place during the main festival performance day, which sees local bands performing on the main stage at the Old Marketplace including Exile Parade, Bill Davro and The Ambersons.
Elliot, who will be attending Woolston CE Primary School from September, is also a keen singer and is expected to sing during the day.
The festival runs from today (Saturday) to July 16 and includes a range of events and performances in the shopping centre, Queen’s Gardens and the Parr Hall.
It includes a Warrington’s Got Talent contest for youngsters aged five to 19. Local pubs and clubs are also organising musical events.
Golden Square’s marketing manager Ian Cox said: “We’re delighted to be hosting the main stage for the music festival at the shopping centre again and look forward to welcoming a wealth of local musical talent.
“It’s a great opportunity to get the community involved and enjoying all different types of great music.”
