DEMENTIA awareness week takes place from July 3-9 and aims to encourage people to get talking about the condition.
People are invited to attend a variety of awareness raising events ranging from a music recital to advice and information sessions.
This year’s theme is “Remember the person” and encourages people to be a friend to someone with dementia and to take some of the fear out of dealing with the condition.

The Alzheimer’s Society is running a number of events in support of dementia awareness week to help let people know advice and support is available for people with dementia and those who care for them.
There will be a music recital and afternoon tea at Holy Trinity Church, Sankey Street on Saturday (July 2)
On Wednesday, July 6 there will be a drop-in information session at BHS, Golden Square and at information stand at The Gateway, Sankey Street.
Thursday, July 7 will see an information stand at mental health and wellbeing day, Walton Hall Gardens.
On Sunday, July 10 there will be an information stand at Disability Awareness Day – Walton Hall Gardens.
