A FUNDRAISING event at Thelwall British Legion raised more than £1,600 for Leukaemia Research.
Joanne Brown, of Lymm, (pictured centre in black and white) was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia in December 2000. She was treated at Manchester Royal and Warrington Hospitals and went into remission in September 2001.
Each year since then she has organised a fundraising event and over the past 10 years has raised £18,000.
For the first five years, money raised was donated to Manchester and Warrington hospitals, and following that money was donated to Leukaemia Research.
Joanne said she is grateful to people in Lymm and Thelwall who have supported her, and people and businesses who have donated prizes. She received a letter of thanks from the charity for her fundraising work over the years.
