A PHOTOGRAPHIC exhibition that will be shown simultaneously in both Warrington and its twin town Hilden in Germany opens on Saturday.
Two schools from each town have produced the artwork which focuses on the experience and emotions faced during adolescence. Each piece visualises thoughts and emotions of teenagers.
There are 40 original photographic works plus statements from the artists on the theme of “Identity.”
The two main Warrington schools involved in the exhibition are William Beamont High and Birchwood High. There is also additional work from these schools together with St Gregory’s, Woolston and Great Sankey High Schools.
The exhibition has been put together jointly by Warrington and Hilden within the framework of the Comenius Regio Project 2009/11, which aims to give educational authorities in different European regions the opportunity to work together on topics of mutual interest.
Cllr Kate Hannon, the borough council’s executive member for leisure, community and culture, said: “Taking part in projects like this one contributes significantly to developing an intercultural dialogue which we hope to continue to build on.”
The exhibition at Warrington Museum continues until September 10.
