Find out about job training

WEDNESDAY is VQ Day – and YMCA Training is encouraging young people in Warrington to contact them and find out about apprenticeship and foundation learning opportunities in the area.
YMCA Training’s vocational qualification programmes provide an ideal alternative for school leavers and those aged 16-plus looking to develop their skills for employment and find a job.
Research, commissioned by independent education foundation Edge as part of its campaign to raise the status of vocational education, identifies that 51 per cent of middle income parents can no longer afford to send their child to university with 31 per cent claiming it simply isn’t worth the investment.
Recognising the benefit of a skills-led education route instead, 38 per cent believe their son or daughter may have a better chance of success with a vocational qualification.
The nearest YMCA Training location can be found by visiting www.ymcatraining.org.uk
