Fire in private woodland

FIRE crews were called to woodland near Warrington after reports of a large fire.
The blaze was in a locked compound at the Fiddler’s Ferry Yacht Club and covered an area of about 40 square metres.
Firefighters said it was controlled burning which had spread out of control.
Access was gained to the compound and a main jet was used to extinguish the blaze. No-one was hurt.
