A NEW initiative to help people get back into work is to be launched at Warrington.
The Can Do club, run by the Neighbourhoods team at Warrington Borough Council, will launch at Orford Library on Monday, June 20 at 11am.
It offers an opportunity to anyone who is unemployed to help prepare themselves for the job market.
The club will work with people to try to improve any aspect of their life that is a hurdle to them getting back into work, with a particular focus on their health and wellbeing. The Can Do club is open to anyone who is unemployed and aims to make getting back to work a real possibility.
Cllr Kate Hannon, the borough council’s executive member for leisure, community and culture, said: “We are fully committed to doing all we can to help anyone in Warrington who is unemployed get back into work. The Can Do club is an important new initiative that gives people the chance to take a positive step towards getting back into employment.
“I would encourage anyone who is unemployed to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity by dropping in to a session in their local area – everyone is welcome.”
The Can Do club is being delivered in partnership with Warrington Disability Partnership and the library service.
More information is available from central area co-ordinator Chris Skinkis on 01925 241360.
There are Can Do clubs in a number of areas across Warrington starting up from June 20, including from Longford Neighbourhood Café, Bewsey Park Community Centre, Fearnhead Community Centre and Fairfield and Howley Community Hub.
