SEVEN fire appliances were involved in an operation to extinguish a blaze at the Fiddlers Ferry power station, near Warrington.
The fire was at a height of about 50 metres and involved an industrial conveyor belt.
Two main jets were used from inside the building to extinguish the fire – and two others from an adjacent building.
The in-house fire team co-operated with the fire service during the operation and no one was hurt.
Fire crews from Warrington, Widnes, Stockton Heath and Knutsford were involved, including a hydraulic platform from Stockton Heath and a rope rescue team from Knutsford.
