£7,500 benefits windfall

A WARRINGTON resident received £7,500 in benefits as a result of consulting the “Benefits Bus” when it visited the town earlier this year.
Collectively, local people were able to claim benefits they did not realise they were entitled to amounting to more than £81,000.
The bus is returning to Warrington on Tuesday, May 31 and will remain outside the town’s market until Friday, June 3. It will be offering help and advice to local people on claiming housing and council tax benefit.
Anyone can use the bus’ services and no appointment is necessary.
The bus has disabled access, private interview rooms and satellite and internet access which allows for immediate benefit estimates to be made.
