FOSTER Care fortnight starts on Monday, May 16 – and there will be three roadshow events in Warrington to flag up the occasion.
They will be at the Cockhedge Shopping Centre on Monday and again from Wednesday through to May 29 and at Gemini on Tuesday, May 17
Around 70,000 children in the UK are not able to live with their families and almost 42,000 are living with a foster carer.
Foster Care Fortnight aims to persuade people that they could be a foster carer.
There are several different types of fostering, so it needn’t be a “full time” task. Carer’s receive full training and support, plus payments to cover the cost of caring for each child.
More details are available at the roadshows which are from 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and on Saturdays, but finish at 4pm on Fridays.
The borough council fostering team can be contacted on 01925 442026 or by email at [email protected]
