A WOMAN has been arrested at Warrington following an armed robbery at an off-licence.
Police said today the woman was being questioned in connection with a raid at the Bargain Booze shop in Warrington Road, Penketh.
They had also recovered a plastic, imitation firearm.
The robbery took place at about 7.30pm on Bank Holiday Monday.
A lone woman entered the shop carrying a bag which appeared to contain a firearm and demanded that the staff member hand over takings from the till.
She took the cash and left the store, heading off on foot in the direction of the Sportsman Arms.
The shopworker, a 57-year-old local woman, was not hurt but was left traumatised by the incident.
