A CAMPAIGN to protect children from second hand smoke, soon to be launched in Warrington, will encourage parents to “Take 7 Steps Out” before lighting up.
The campaign, developed by Smokefree North West, will urge all parents to be aware of the harm that second hand smoke can cause to their children’s health.
Smokers are encouraged to take at least seven steps outside the house to ensure that the smoke does not drift back in.
Pete Astley, Warrington Borough Council’s Public Protection Manager said: “We owe it to our children to protect them from the dangers of exposure to second hand smoke.
“Smoking around children can have serious consequences for their health and also increases the likelihood that they will become smokers themselves perpetuating health inequalities.”
