Festival to end on high note

LYMM Festival has released details of two events which will help this year’s festival go out on a high note.
On Friday, July 1 comedians Ian McMillan and Tony Husband will present “A Cartoon History of Here” at Lymm Baptist Church.
The show is billed as comedy, cartoonery, poetry and improvisation for audiences aged nine to 109 as the two funny men reflect upon local stores, legends, rivers and romance.
There’s a chance to meet the pair at a before the show at a reception and light supper – although places will be limited.
On July 3, international pianist Steven Hough – who spent much of his youth at Thelwall – will be appearing at Lymm United Reformed Church.
The recital will be a reprisal of the concert he’ll be playing in June in London at Wigmore Hall, and will include Beethoven’s ‘Moonlight’ Sonata, Skryabi, Liszt’s Piano Sonata in B minor, as well as his own brand new work Sonata for Piano (broken branches).
