A tree for Mothers' Day

SONS and daughters at Warrington are being offered a chance to give the Mums an unusual Mothers’ Day treat – a tree.
Community Forests North West is offering sons and daughters the chance to dedicate a sapling for £15 in one of The Mersey Forest’s stunning woodlands including local beauty spot, Griffin Wood, Burtonwood.
The trees come with a certificate – personalised with a chosen message, along with a map to find the woodland site.
As well as being a special gift for Mum, the donation will support work to create acres of community woodland that will enhance the local area and in turn provide the perfect place for recreation and create a greener and healthier place to live.
The Dedicate a Tree scheme is run by Community Forests Northwest, the charity that supports The Mersey, Red Rose, and Pennine Edge Forests.
Paul Nolan, director of The Mersey Forest, said: “Dedicating a tree is a great way to celebrate Mother’s Day. These woodland areas provide cherished places for everyone to enjoy and a habitat for an array of wildlife.”
It couldn’t be easier to dedicate a tree. Visit the website at www.dedicateatree.org or call Jess Boyle for a leaflet on 0161 872 1660.
