A 67-year-old woman had her handbag stolen during a robbery in Warrington.
She was walking along a footpath near Wasley Close, Fearnhead yesterday afternoon (Thursday) when she noticed two men in front of her.
One walked off towards Wasley Close but the other dropped his Mongoose BMX bike to the ground and walked over to the victim.
He said: “I’ll have that bag” and grabbed her handbag.
There was a short struggle and the offender ran off with the bag, leaving his bike at the scene.
The woman was not injured but was very shaken.
Police say the offender was aged in his late 20s, not very tall with a red, round face and short cropped dark hair.
Anyone with any information is asked to call police on 0845 458 0000 or confidentially on the independent charity Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
