Wanted: 150 foster carers

0

A CAMPAIGN to find 150 foster carers in 150 days has been launched in Warrington and other North West towns.
Warrington and the other 22 local authorities in the region are searching as part of the You Can Foster campaign.
The North West has the greatest shortage of foster carers in the UK (excluding London) and the campaign aims to reach its target by June.
Foster carers give children and young people a safe and secure home, and the campaign hopes to find more homes for children who really need them. It features real people and aims to show there is no typical person who fosters.
Chris Williams, chairman of the North West Fostering Leads group, said: “150 people from across the region really isn’t a big number so we’re positive this is achievable.
“There are people out there, just like you, who would make a huge difference to the life of a child or young person, who have the time, and space needed, so we want them to come forward now. Choosing to foster will be a rewarding experience for all involved.”
