New planning battle over stables

1

A NEW planning battle is about to take place at Warrington over a controversial scheme for stables on Green Belt land.
Nearby residents are opposing proposals for three stables and a store room, together with hardstanding, on land at the rear of Petersfield Gardens, Culcheth.
Two similar proposals, involving first 10 and later eight, stables have been thrown out.
Residents of Petersfield Gardens, Sutton Avenue and Chiltern Road have objected to the scheme, together with nearby Twiss Green Primary School..
They claim the proposed development would be inappropriate in the Green Belt, given the size and scale of the buldings, that increased traffic would cause danger in a residential area and near to a school, that mud would be deposited on roads and there would increased noise.
They describe the buildings as a “blot on the landscape.”
Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council has not objected but has expressed concerns if the land was to be used for training horses or riders, or if floodlights were to be erected.
Planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved.
They point out that the planned stable block has been re-sited and reduced in size. Only three horses would be accommodated instead of eight. Stables would be acceptable in the Green Belt and would have no detrimental impact on the character of the area.
The issue will be considered by the borough council’s planning committee next week.

  1. Really hope they get the planning permission………………..keeping fingers crossed for them.

If you buy a house so close to farm land then surely you can’t complain when it is used for keeping animals etc.
