Boy, 7, critical after road crash

A SEVEN-year-old boy is critically ill in hospital at Warrington following a road collision.
Police were called to Blackbrook Avenue in Padgate just after 6pm last night following reports of a pedestrian road traffic collision near to the Jolly Falstaff pub.
The boy sustained serious injuries and was taken to Warrington Hospital. He was later transferred to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool, where his condition is described as critical but stable.
Two cars were involved in the incident, a Citroen driven by a 56-year-old woman from Wigan and a Nissan Almera driven by a 28-year-old local woman. Neither women sustained any injuries and there were no arrests following the collision.
Police are keen to speak to any witnesses who may have seen the collision take place. They should Warrington Police Traffic Unit on 0845 458 0000.
