POLICE have appealed for witnesses following a crash on the A56 Chester Road, Warrington.
The incident happened on Sunday (December 12)at around 2pm. A silver coloured Mercedes was travelling along the A56 Chester Road, heading away from Daresbury and towards Warrington, when it careered off the road, crashed through a hedge, and overturned, coming to rest in a field.
The two occupants, the 47-year-old driver and his front seat passenger, a 17-year-old youth, both suffered minor injuries for which they were treated at Warrington Hospital, before being discharged.
Following the collision the road was closed at the junction with Mill Lane, until shortly after 7pm.
Police are appealing for witnesses and are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident itself, or who may have seen the silver Mercedes car prior to the collision occurring.
Prior to the incident, a grey BMW car was travelling along the same stretch of road. This was driven by a 34-year-old man.
Police are keen for anybody who may have seen the two vehicles – the grey BMW and the silver Mercedes – travelling along the A56 or nearby roads prior to the Mercedes leaving the road.
The occupants of both cars were all from Runcorn.
Anyone who can help should contact PC Andrew Hunt on 0845 458 0000.
