Funeral service
THE funeral has taken place of 101-year-old Hugh Davies, of Moston Grove, Lymm, one of the oldest residents of the area. He had lived in the
Warrington area since he was six, and served in the Royal Navy between the two world wars. He moved to Lymm in 1988.

Hospital lottery
WINNING numbers in the weekly lottery run by the League of Friends of Warrington Hospital were 1, 9, 14 and 16. No-one claimed the jackpot prize which will be rolled-over to next week. But three special £50 Christmas prizes were paid out, two to hospital visitors and one to a member of staff and the normal £25 consolation prize was won by a member of staff.

Pets for sale
PLANNING chiefs have approved a change in retail sales conditions at Q Homes Centres, Thelwall Lane, Warrington, to allow sale of pets and pet products with ancillary dog grooming and veterinary facility.

Home extension
PLANS for the demolition of a single storey extension at a house in Bridge Lane, Appleton, to make way for a new front, rear and side single storey extension have been given the go-ahead by Warrington planners.

Panto time
MEMBERS of St John’s United Reformed Church, Warrington, will stage the pantomime “1001 Arabian Nights” on
Friday and Saturday, December 17 and 18. There will be evening performances at 7.30pm and a Saturday matineee at 2pm.Details on 01925 637023
