Stars launch toy appeal

CORONATION Street stars Chesney and Katie (Sam Astom and Georgia May Foote) are hoping many under privileged children in Warrington have a Christmas to remember as they kindly dropped off gifts at a special Toy Appeal in the town.
They were both at BiG Storage to launch the BiG Storage Christmas toy appeal which will help local charities to benefit including St Josephs Family Centre, which provides support for children and families experiencing relationship difficulties and Jacobs Unique Memory Pot (J-U-M-P) who provide memory packages for sick and disabled children.
Street star ‘Chesney’ said: “We are delighted to support the launch of such an important appeal. Most of us assume all children have a special Christmas but many would not get any presents at all if it were not for appeals like this and the generosity of more fortunate families in the community.”
There was a fantastic response during last year’s appeal donating 1000’s of gifts for children aged up to 16.
This year Big Storage are once again asking people to bring much needed seasonal cheer – and it doesn’t have to cost a lot of money to donate a gift. They are appealing for new gifts so look out for the ‘buy one get one free’ or ‘three for the price of two’ offers on sale.Any unwanted gifts from last year will also be welcome
Kevin Murphy, Partner at BiG Storage said: “We are delighted once again to be part of the Christmas toy appeal. Every year the people of Warrington overwhelm us with their generosity. Every year the number of toys donated has increased. So every year we have been able to distribute toys to more and more under-privileging children via the hard working children’s charities we support.”
Helen Crowther from the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust, one of the Charities supported said “We are over the moon that Big Storage have again selected The Adventure Farm as a beneficiary of their Christmas Toy Appeal. This year we will be providing magical Christmas Parties to 20 groups of terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children from all over our region. These toys will help us to give these children special memories of Christmas which will last them a lifetime. We really can’t thank Big Storage, and their customers enough for their generosity. They really will be changing lives.”
BiG Storage at Warrington is the drop off point. It’s on Manchester Road, Woolston, WA1 4AE (1 mile from Jnc 21, M6) – just look for the BiG Storage sign. A location map can also be seen at www.bigstorage.info.
Toys can be dropped off Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm, Saturdays 9am to 4pm, and Sundays 10am to 4pm at the BiG Storage reception, which will be clearly signposted. Please ask for Alison or Andy, or ring them on 01925 812700
