Students support needy children

STUDENTS from the Warrington Campus of the University of Chester have been showing their support for children across the globe by donating to Operation Christmas Child.
They joined Chester students by filling parcels for the charity.
More than 150 shoeboxes were collected across both sites with help from the Students’ Union, the University’s clubs and societies, women’s football team and also staff.
Operation Christmas Child is the largest children’s Christmas project in the world, run by the charity Samaritan’s Purse. In its simplest form, it is all about a gift that participants pack and wrap, which is then checked and delivered overseas. The gifts are then sent to orphans and vulnerable children living in often difficult circumstances.
Students’ Union president Dechlan Jarrett said: “Students here were exemplary in collecting boxes and gifts for unfortunate children around the world. The Christian foundation of this University certainly plays a part in making Operation Christmas Child such a success here.”
