Round 'em up, officer!

POLICE turned herdsmen when 30 cows were found wandering in Blackcap Road, Appleton.
Officers rounded up the animals and returned them to nearby Dairy Farm.
Coun Mike Stansfield told Appleton Parish Council the cows had wandered on to the road on this and another recent occasion when field gates had been left open and electric fencing had been disconnected by persons unknown.
PCSO Ben Scholte presented a report to the council on incidents dealt with by police and community support officers in Appleton during the period October 19 to November 16.
There were 11 reports of anti social behaviour, one assault, three burglaries, one attempted burglary, three acts of criminal damage, 13 reports of suspicious activity and 12 thefts including three thefts from motor vehicles.
Councillors expressed concerned at what seem a high number of incidents.
