Remembrance Service arrangements

FINAL arrangements have been made for the Warrington Service of Remembrance on Sunday November 14.
Those taking part in the parade to the Cenotaph, Bridge Foot, are asked gather by 9.50am at the East Annexe Car Park, Warrington Town Hall.
Units and contingents will step off at 10.15am led by Warrington Pipe Band and will march via Sankey Street, Market Gate and Bridge Street to Bridge Foot.
On arrival, they will halt on the bridge access road, before marching into place in front of the Cenotaph by 10.45am.
Soon after the civic party will arrive and members will be escorted to their places by Cenotaph Sentries.
At 10.59am the Last Post will be sounded and the Union Flag will be lowered. Two minutes silence will then be observed.
After the Last Post, Lt Col L Taylor-Duff will deliver an extract from the poem “For the Fallen.” Then Reveille will be sounded and the Union Flag raised.
The Band of the Salvation Army will play, and wreaths will be laid. Prayers and a service will be led by Father Christopher Cunningham, Roman Catholic Dean of Warrington.
The Mayor and Mayoress of Warrington Coun and Mrs John Joyce will then spend a few minutes talking to ex-servicemen and women and families of those added to the war memorial this year.
The parade will then return to the Town Hall.
